More Action...

The wind has stopped blowing for a couple of days so time to rest n recuperate before it comes back (handily) at the weekend. We've had loads more sailing, you'll be pleased to hear (check out the gopro still from Flag Beach yesterday above), and we're still getting some video footage together, mainly for training purposes. I'm sitting on mine until I have enough for a half-decent video but Lucy had loads of footage so she chucked together this little gem where you can see how much she's improved already in the short time she's been here, she really is ripping, especially at my beloved Punta. Check out her waveriding and her full-on forward attempts! She's landing them now since we shot this video...In the meantime, enjoy...

And while we're on the subject of video, check out this wee snippet from Punta a few days ago. With only a few weeks left before the Easter Clinic (places still available if you're interested), I'm getting as much freesailing in as possible.... Yep, I'm still addicted to takas...

More pics from our windy isle.

The wind hasn't really stopped blowing since my last post, the SUP is looking slightly forlorn in the garden as we head off to Punta and Majanicho every morning to get a couple of hours on the water before work. We're still shooting video so I have some frame-grabs to post up, although the light has been shitty so the quality is not so good- not sure if we'll be able to use the video footage for anything other than training purposes. It's been really useful to watch the footage, though, and my sailing has definitely improved as a result. We will be using video analysis a lot this year on my clinics for sure. The wind has dropped off today but should return tomorrow for some Majanicho action so the video camera is on charge...

Windy...

It´s been a good windy spell over here and we´ve been sailing a lot! Loads of big days at Punta and some good Majanicho sessions (check out the pics taken from some video that we shot). Yesterday myself and Lucy tried to sail Martillo at low tide, something I´ve never tried before and I realise now why! It´s definitely a high tide only spot as we suspected as there were semi-dry rocks peeking out as I bottom turned on logo high sets! After I threaded through two bubbling boulders on a set wave I decided it was time to head back to the van and spent the next 20 minutes picking my way across the razor sharp lava rock. Never again at low tide!
The forecast is epic for the next week and we´re going to continue videoing the sessions with the aim of getting a wee video together by the end of the month. That´s the plan anyway, but it´s not that easy to stand on the beach with a camera when it´s going off on the water so let´s see...

Welcome to the site!
Aswell as regular features and news updates from Fuerte, I am going to be using this site to promote my windsurfing clinics.
After 15 years on the island, having competed in the PWA freestyle world cup and now representing Fanatic Boards and North Sails, I have decided to give something back to the sport which has given me so much over the years.
My aim is to provide clinics "tailor-made"for each individual, with a strong emphasis on practical in-the-water instruction, backed up by on-the-beach tuition and video analysis. The consistent conditions here in Fuerte make learning so much easier and, perhaps equally important, more fun than the typically inconsistent, cold UK - why not come over for a week and improve your windsurfing by a year!!!

I can help with any manoeuvres from carve-gybe through to advanced jumping and freestyle, just email me with your wish list and we'll take it from there! Over the next few months, I am going to be video-chronicling manoeuvres which you can check out on the right in my tricktionary sections. This will give you some idea of the things we can work on, or, if you can't make it over here, you may find them useful to help understand and break down a manoeuvre you would like to learn (hopefully, the slow-mo will help in this respect!).Just click on the trick and scroll down..........
Anyway, keep checking it out as I have loads more in my bag of tricks and will be updating as and when I get the footage.

See ya in Fuerte?
